Ruger ISB for 10/22

Billed as "RUGER® SILENT-SR® 10/22 TAKEDOWN® INTEGRALLY SUPPRESSED BARREL", with an MSRP of $629. Replaces the entire barrel on a takedown 10/22 or 22 Charger pistol.

If the HPA ever passes things like this will become a trend and a growth industry. In the meantime, kind of expensive if you don't already only a 10/22 Takedown model. Will they offer it as a complete rifle?

The equivalent Gemtech replacement barrel is well-reviewed and can be found at less than $500 retail. Ruger will need to be competitively priced in order to succeed I think. The Ruger name isn't worth an additional $100 unless it is noticeably quieter.

This is VERY cool. The double baffle design in particular looks pretty innovative.

I SBR'ed a Charger Takedown and added a can later. Had this option been available at the time I would have saved a stamp.

I think most Ruger products have street prices well below MSRP - not sure about their existing cans though.

If by some miracle the HPA passes these will be impossible to find.

If Ruger can keep up with demand they'd make a killing selling them as complete rifles.

The additional internal volume of the Ruger suppressor is supposed to make it significantly more quiet than the Gemtech Mist.

Looks pretty neat to me, the 8 style profile seems like an excellent way to increase internal volume without making the barrel assembly too unweildly. I don't know what the Gemtech baffles are made of ( looks like some kind of aluminum from what I can find on the 'net?), But Ruger did it right with 17-4PH, should be easily scrapped, dipped, or dumped in the ultrasonic cleaner. The street price won't be too bad. I want one.

Like Wally said, in the unlikely event that the HPA becomes law, I expect we'll see all kinds of integrally suppressed offerings like this popping up, which would probably be one of the most interesting impacts for me.
