Just picked up a Ruger LCR in .357. Shoots great. Absorbs recoil with hot loads and the trigger is surprisingly good. Any thoughts on this gun? And what about holsters? I don't see much listed for it yet.

I got an Uncle mike's Holster for mine...I forget which size. I also got a Kholster for it but haven't used it yet.
As far as the gun (mine is .38 special) I love it. Very smooth trigger and accurate. I did shoot some +P rounds and it wasn't horrible but it wasn't as nice a shooting experience as regular .38s. I don't think I'd like .357s in one. Overall great gun IMO!

The first thing I did was shoot .357's out of it. That's what they gave me to say thanks for buying. They were understandably snappy, but just fine. More manageable than some 3" steel revolvers I've shot them through. Either way, it is a nice gun. I was very surprised.

I bought one a few months back it has been a great so far, i have a Simplyrugged pancake being made for it right now.

I really like and enjoy my Ruger KLCR .357mag. I have added the XS Big Dot which increased the accuracy for me, even at longer distances. I purchased the Mitch Rosen Pancake Holster shown on the Ruger Arms site ( has Ruger emblem printed on it too ). For IWB I have a Blade Tech UHC which also works as a tuckable if needed. Just a couple of suggestions.

Thanks Doc. Did you have a good experience with Rosen? I get the idea those folks aren't the easiest to deal with. Its like they don't really want you to call them. Not real friendly. Maybe its me.

One thing I just noticed about the .357 version is that it's heavier than the .38 version (because of the different cylinders). The .38 version is so small and comfy in my pocket I don't think I would want to possibly change that.

Water-Man, that SG300B is the stinger model. Is that a clip on the belt design or does it use belt loops? How do you like it? I wonder why its currently out of stock at Galco.

I have the LCR in 38. I carry it in a Crossbreed Super Tuck. Makes for an easy carry.

Just came in here to plug the 22lr lcr to all you 357 owners. Trigger is a little more stiff (only notice it if I shoot them back to back, otherwise it doesn't seem super stiff to me and is totally workable) but that gun is tons of fun to shoot.

whalerman,,

It's an OWB with belt loop. I'm very pleased with it. It carries close to the body.

I purchased it through Ruger.

Whalerman, I also purchased my Mitch Rosen thru Ruger (Sturm Ruger Site) and their online shopping store. Did not have to deal with Rosen personally, and did not have to wait. After ordering, the holster was shipped the next day. As far as liking it, I actually love it for OWB. I must have 10 other holsters I have tried, and the M. Rosen is the best for me. Holds close to body, quality leather, sconed to a perfect fit and retention, and even covered by a t-shirt easily. Liked it so much, I bought another just like it for my Kahr CM9, same experience. Good luck.
