Ruger P95

How is this good? What is a fair price for it new?

Are all P95's have a 15 or 16 capacity?

In my opinion the P95 is Ruger's best 9mm.

Prices will vary, but $325-$350 is probably what you'll see in the stores for a new stainless model. Knock off about $30 for blued. Check with CDNN to see if they still have some of their closeout models (Ruger has discontinued the decocker models). If they do, you can get a new blued P95 decocker model from them for around $260 (plus shipping and FFL transfer fee).

All P95 pistols are capable of accepting 15 round magazines, but some are sold with 10 round magazines due to local/state regulations in some areas restricting magazine capacity.

Accuracy is mediocre but adequate, shootability is very good which really helps with practical accuracy. SA trigger pull is good, DA trigger pull is about par for the course (pull weight is stiff) but smooth. I don't find either the DA or SA trigger to be a hindrance to practical accuracy.

Reliability and durability are excellent.

Ergonomics are generally good although the frame on the older models is a bit on the slick side. The newer models have a textured grip that helps this. The slide & controls are very easy to operate which makes the pistol a good choice for those with low hand strength.

Recoil is surprisingly low for a polymer framed 9mm. My wife, who is very recoil sensitive says it has the least recoil of any polymer framed 9mm she's shot.

The Ruger P95 I owned was on par with most semi autos as far as accuracy was concerned. The SA trigger was actually considerably lighter than most, but with some creep. The DA was stiff, like most.

I had a p95 actually it was the kp95 one of th enewer models, and it did shoot pretty good, but it was too big for my hand and i am not a fan of da/sa guns, and i just didn't shoot it as good as i did other guns so, i sold it. but i think they are a great value and definetly worth looking into.

all they do , which seems to not be enough for a lot of shooters , is load easily , feed well , shoot every time, eject as designed, and hit tin-cans and proposed targets; all this at about half the cost of many pistols that do NOT do these things.....and it is U.S. made.....as my Daddy used to say, Rugers are boringly perfect....the one go-to gun everybody ought to own

I've had my P95 for about a year, put about 1K+ through her and then the mag started to drop out when firing, 1 round left, 15 left, did not matter. I picked it up from the smith yesterday and will fire her this weekend. They said it was dirty and they cleaned the mag release, I did that already She's been a great pistol up until this, I think it's a good pistol for the price.

Its a great gun. I bought mine in Jan '05, and for whatever reason it came with 10 round mags. Since then, I have bought a half dozen 15 round mags, and added a Pachmayr slip on grip.

The newer models come with 15 round mags, accessory rail, and have a slightly different texture than mine.

I purchased a P95 about a month ago. First handgun I've ever purchased. After about 500 rounds I have nothing to complain about. I've heard people on this board (and others) describe the gun as "boring" - and they're right, in a good way. The gun always fires, is fairly accurate, is weighted nicely, and has manageable recoil (never shot +P though). You can't beat the price either.

Take my review with a grain of salt because I'm just a handgun newbie. I talked to a lot of friends and family about it before I made the purchase and I have no regrets. Ruger makes good stuff and they stand by it.

Ruger makes solid if not exceptional handguns, they tend to have average or better accuracy with good reliability at a very good price, you can do far worse.
