I have a Ruger Security Six starting in Serial Number 150-xxxx that no longer has the original wooden grips. The weapon is in .38 special with fixed sights and appears to be unfired with the exception of the improper grips. Any assistance in obtaining grips is grealty appreciated.

No, those CDNN grips won't fit the early 150 series, Security-Six grip design! They will only fit the 151 and up serial number prefixes and some of the #150 series serial numbered guns that also had the newer #151 and up grip frame style!:what::banghead:

I have one of these 150- series guns as well. Great revolver but finding grips for it has so far proved a fruitless task. The vast majority of this type of revolver seems to have been the 151- series and grip makers ignore the 150- series crowd because of this. I have not seen a single 150- series grip anywhere I've looked! I do have the stock grips on mine.

Are you looking for original grips or after market grips?

Some of the older Jay Scott grips were made to fit the 150 prefix and the later guns. The easiest way to tell if they'll fit the early and late guns is the grips will have two grip pin holes.

Thanks for information. I'll keep an eye out on E Bay. Hopefully a grip maker recognizes the apparent need for replacement / upgraded grips for this weapon.

I may actually HAVE a set of factory wood grips for an early Security Six in perfect condition (because I installed a set of aftermarket grips immediately after I bought the gun new). I sold/traded the gun over 25 years ago but ran across the grips recently in a box-o-parts. How can I tell if they're the "old style" for the 150 series? I'll be glad to help you out.
