I know ruger has made some 45acp only Blackhawks and Vaquero's (not the convertable).

Do these models say 45 caliber on the side? What is the best way to tell them apart from 45 colt just by looking?

Thanks

To my knowledge, Ruger has made plenty of .45Colt-only sixguns but never a .45ACP-only. Unless I'm mistaken, it's a chambering that has only been available in the convertible model.

Gotcha maybe I am crazy and just have seen the convertibles listed under 45acp.... I have a 45 convertible and a 45 colt only....wanted to add a 45 acp to round out the collection.

Thanks for clearing that up

There's a 9mm only Blackhawk down at my local FFL. It's a 9mm only because the owner lost the .357 cylinder.
You could have Clements Custom build you a .45acp only on a Blackhawk frame with a shortened cylinder, that would be unique and not that expensive.

9mm Blackhawk for sale?

I would be interested in purchasing that 9mm Blackhawk if it is a 4 5/8" or upto 6.5" barreled unit.

The numbers Ruger Blackhawk BN44XL Revolver 10446 on the Hinderland Outfitters website are the numbers Ruger shows on their website for the .45 Colt convertible. I think someone just made a minor mistake on Hinderland’s site.

Well I decided to pass on it. It's a 4-5/8" gun. The front sight has an aftermarket ramp with a 3/8" dovetail which will take rifle front sights, kinda' cool I guess. The rear sight blade has been carved into a shallow V notch, kind of a poor mans express sight. The 9mm cylinder has a partial serial number on it that doesn't match the gun's number, so apparently it was never fitted to the gun, but seems fine.
At $350, I decided to pass, but if you really want it, PM me. I know they sell on Gunbroker, so they could ship it to your FFL.
I think I'm going to get back into the Contender Game instead. I miss my short barreled .357 single shot.
