I need a firing pin for a Ruger Speed Six 357. I bought this gun from an old Holster factory, it was used for fitting only, never fired. But they removed the firing pin and spring for safety reasons. Can anyone help me out here? Can I send it in to Ruger for repairs? If so can someone give me the address or phone # to call. Thanks in advance. Jerry

Ruger will fix it, or Brownell's will have the parts. Given shipping costs on handguns, Brownell's will actually be cheaper, especially if the hammer, trigger and transfer bar group are intact.

Lesse...here's the list of Rugers:

http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/schematics/SchemMFG.aspx

...but we got a problem - your gun isn't listed. Durn.

OK. Betcha the firing pin/spring assembly is used in several guns. Let's check.

Redhawk: whoops, not available for sale. GP100, same, and according to the pic it's a different shape. Uhoh.

SP101, they do sell the bits.

Odd.

You might consider going to http://www.rugerforum.com under the gunsmithing forum, see if anybody knows if the old Speed/Single DA series is compatible with either SP101 or New Model Blackhawk bits will fit.

If you can't get an answer, it'll be off to Ruger.

I had a "Speed Six" back in the late '80s.

If I remember correctly, it was the same (basically) as the "Security Six", but the "Speed Six" had fixed sights.
If you can find the parts for that one, they should fit, I believe, but, why chance it? Send that puppy back to Ruger and let them put it back in factory fresh condition.

Send it back to RUGER

Send it back to RUGER. :) I am sure thay can get it back to working order. That - IMO, would be the best move. RUGER - you can't blow one up, they are surely tuff. Just one poor man's opinion.
