I sold my SR22 plinker a year ago and wished I didn't ever since. I always said I would replace it sometime when I found them on sale, but I might want the 4.5" model. The longer barrel models are $400+ when you can find them. I liked the balance of the standard model. I just figured the longer barrel would be more accurate for a .22LR. Anyone out there own the longer barrel model? Sure 'nuff a local gun store has the standard SR22 on sale for $269 this week. What say you? Is the longer barrel worth $100+ dollars difference in price?

Not to me unless I want the added velocity. Best accuracy would be a toss up between any two pistols, the longer barrel will not guarantee better accuracy. The longer sight distance between sights may help you.

I wouldn't spend $100 on the longer barrel but that's just me. Unless you need additional velocity which will be minimal I wouldn't do it.

I agree with the above. Not worth it. That's a great price.

I also like the 'balance' of the 3.5".

The Lady brought factory Ceracoated Jungle Green 3.5" barrel model that is a really fun plinker.

Shortly afterwards I was at the LGS that she brought the gun from and I mentioned how much fun shooting the gun was. The owner went into his shop and brought out his personal SR22 that has the threaded 3.5" barrel and the Ruger suppressor.

I am in love with the combination. I am a big believer in 2 is 1 so another SR22 with 3.5" barrel is likely in the future. Just trying to decide if I want to go through the NFA hassle.

    I just have a 22/45 lite with a gemtech gm22.
The GM22 is lighter and half the price of the ruger. The ruger is tougher and rated to take a 5.7x28mm.
But do you really need a $500+ titanium tubed silencer that can handle 5.7x28mm when you are only ever going to shoot 22LR a won't a $200 to $300 all aluminum one do just fine?

    Not worth the longer barrel!
