I just picked up a late 80's S&W 1500 in 30-06.
The rifle is scoped and someone has removed the front and rear sights and filled the mounting holes with "something".
I want to remove this stuff and install the correct screw plugs.
Are they the same size? And is that size #6-48?
All I know about these rifles is that they were made by Howa for S&W and everybody seems to like them. I always have room for one more
