I set about replacing a pinned front sight on a S&W revolver today. I ordered the roll pins from Brownells and already had their #54S drill bit. After punching out the existing pin, mounting the new sight, clamping it in my vise and drilling the new hole through the sight, first one side, then the other, I figured I was good to go. But the roll pin just falls through the hole.

I've done these before and never had this problem.

So, is there a way to expand the roll pin just a tad so it doesn't fall through?

Thanks for the help :(

Thanks BobWright, I'll stop by there today.

I may also try ever-so-slightly "egging" the roll pin in the vice to see if that gets me a tight enough fit.

Your suggestion was right on BobWright, worked perfectly!

BTW, my local Ace now has an rather expansive collection of "Gun Screws". All sorts of hard to find machine screws, bolts etc.
