S&W Pre-Locks Vs. Post Locks

If there was a new smith I wanted I'd buy it regardless of design. However, at the prices they get for 'em and the prices of police turn ins at the gun shows and elsewhere, I won't likely be buying any new Smiths anytime soon. Taurus is a good revolver for a lot less money. I've always been a Ruger guy for quality and value.

I guess people like me, who doesn't mind the lock or MIM parts, are the lucky ones. We can be happy with new or older revolvers. The ones who can't accept the new models are... well, left behind.

This isn't something new. Mankind has been struggling with change from the beginning of time. Old farts, like me, have heard it a million times, "they don't make things like they used to!", "I wouldn't have one of those new things as a gift!" ect, ect.

There are always those who will cling to the past. It human nature, but the lock and MIM parts are here to stay so...

Of course, just my .02. :)

The locks don't do a thing to the gun other than give you a safe option when storing or transporting the gun. My 625 has never been hindered by the lock, and I don't think it ever will be. If anyone starts complaining about the little hole in the side of the gun, I'll point out to them that the bad guy wont care about the little hole in the side of the gun, but rather the big-ass hole staring them down in the front of the gun.
