Well,, to me there is cost and then price. I doubt the Leupold can be beat at any price when everything is considered. I have a old broken Bushnell I use to mount scope rings with, I wounder what Bushnell would say if I sent it in for repair? I have 40 plus year old Leupold's I have sent in that were returned in "as new condition" internally.
The only cost to me was shipping to Leupold.

I'm a lefty too and all my bolt guns are RH rifles because I only own mil surp and a Mossberg ATR. First I would like to say recoil with a 30-06 is a bit heavy but if you can shoot 8mm Mauser than your fine. BUT If I were you I'd go with a lever action in the new Marlin 308 caliber. The recoil will be less, the caliber sufficient and the rifle is good for both RH or LH. Put a scope on it and your good to go!

Hi jpwilly,

I bought the Sako yesterday, and I bought a box of the low-recoil ammo to use for breaking in the barrel. I also bought a box of 150 gr bullets to shoot for comparison. I know the recoil will be more w/ the 150s, but hopefully the 9+ lbs of the gun & scope will keep it in check enough to not bother my separated shoulder. If not, I'll keep shooting the low-recoil ammo, as the deer I've taken so far were all w/i the ~125 yard range of the ammo.

Can't wait to get the scope mounted and take it to the range!

Leupold is always high on my list. The only thing higher is Nightforce unfortunately so is the price. You will be very happy with the Leupold. I don't know if they are sold as factory ammo but I have had great luck with 125 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips on deer in my 300wsm. And the recoil is substantially less.
