I currently carry a Taurus millennium pro .45 and i noticed that it is starting to get rust around the slide serrations.:fire: To be honest in the summer i sweat more than Roseanne Barr looking at a flight of stairs and i believe that this is the issue. So i guess what im asking is there something that i can put on my firearm or is there a better salt resistant gun that i should save up for, or just wear, as my wife would call it a "Husband beater" under my outer shirt. also has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?

Frog Lube. A moderator on another forum reported severe rust problems after relocating to the U.P. from Colorado. It was suggested to him and it solved his (and others') problem. IIRC Breakfree CLP was his previous product of choice.

Awesome, i have never heard of this stuff. looked at the cost and its not that expensive. thank you i am willing to try anything at least once(when it comes to cleaning guns lol) is it at most of the local gun shops?

Stock wax or butcher's wax. Carnauba wax without abrasive polishing agents, like car wax can have.
I have used it more o blued steel than on stocks.
I have a can of aerosol nonabrasive car wax that I used to use on my tool cabinet/chest when I worked in the shop, years ago.
BC Barricade (sheath under a new name) is a great product.
I prefer Break Free LP to CLP, as it's thicker, and lubes/protects better than CLP.

BTW, Tri-Flow is an excellent CLP. It appears to be the old Break Free CLP formula. You know, the one with more Teflon that lubes much better than the new CLP.
It's $28.00 US for an 18 ounce trigger spray. We use it at work on the slide bearings on Bolzoni carton clamps. If you go to www.triflowlubricants.com and click on products, you'll find a lot of products.
