Hello
I am trying to find info on a Svage 110. It is up for auction and listed as a 110 Tactical, 223 caliber.
I went to the Savage website, but the only 110 they list is a combo model (with a scope). I guess it is out of production.
Does anyone know anything about this rifle. What exactly is the tactical version. Does it have the different police stock, etc.
I only found one on the net, and it just has a standard plastic stock shaped like
the regular stock. May have been mis represented though.
What would be the approx value?
Any info would be appreciated.:D

Jdyer here on the board had a couple for ~$458 shipped- I took one of them and am picking it up today. The LE models have heavy barrel, I believe 24" barrel on this model, stock is their cheaper synthetic- it works but nothing fancy-, 3 sling/bipod studs, has the tactical bolt, and the trigger is adjustable lower than the regular models.

One thing you need to know is that right now, Savage uses double digits to identify short actions and triple digits to identify long actions. A 10 series is a short action whereas the 110 is a long action.

A few years ago, Savage did use long actions for short action cartridges. They used to sell .223 and .308 rifles using long action receivers and thus, they were sold under the 110 model number.

Some people advertise Savage rifles without taking care to note what model it is.

Granted, there's nothing really wrong with getting a .223 or .308 in a long action. It's just something to know about before you buy.
