Savage 320 malfunction?

Hello all
I am new to the shot gun world. And recently purchased a savage 320 at a gun show for 200$ OTD.

After about 100 or so rounds I have noticed a possible issue.
The shotgun is auto ejecting shells.
For example, if I were to shoot one handed the pump and bolt come shooting back and the spent case will go flying out of the receiver.
So to be clear, I do not have to pump to the rear.

After a few times of this, I noticed metal shaving on the bolt and barrel locking surfaces. (A shiny, silvery gritty goop in the well oiled bolt face and nubs)

So my question after googling for days is, is this normal?
Some say yes. Others no. I'm confused...

After bringing home what I thought was a new shotgun. I found a receipt in the box from savage saying that it is infact a warranty repair. I.E. Refurbished gun.

I'm supposed to bring out back to them so they can fix it or send it for repair. But as they are way, way...way out of my way. I don't want to have to make a bunch of trips to drop it off. Pick it up. Find out it's still FUBAR. Rinse and repeat..

Thoughts?
I kinda want to just return it and get a Mossberg 500 with the two barrel combo. But I don't think they will do that

The ejecting is normal. It's not a problem, it's a feature.
The Savage/Stevens 320 is a Chinese clone of the Winchester 1200/1300/SXP design which was referred to as the "Speed Pump" for this exact reason.
If you hold just a little rearward pressure on the pump with your hand before shooting, the bolt will open, eject the spent hull, and all you gotta do is close it for the next shot. VERY fast gun once you get the hang of it.

The shavings I don't know about. I imagine it's just the sharp and rough edges smoothing out as part of the normal wear on the gun. I wouldn't worry about it. Just clean the gun up on a regular basis to get that stuff out and after a while it should be fine.

Frankly, I'd take any of the Winchester speed pumps or clones of them over a Mossberg any day of the week. Love my SXP.

Thanks for the reply

I was worried because I wasn't holding the pump handle at all, so no rearward pressure. I was shooting one handed like in the ratedrr shotgunning beer episode on YouTube.
