Thanks to so many for providing pros and cons on Barrel Break in philosophy.
You get as many accuracy shooters that say yea as you those saying nay.
I opted to go for the break in procedure rather than take a chance later on that I may wish I had and I also wanted to see how it works. Takes all day to do 2 rifles. I'll tell ya!
Anyway, yesterday I shot my new Savage Arms 10FP 308. It ain't all that pretty but I gotta tell ya it's a shooter.
There has got to be something to barrel break in stuff. I watched as I got further through the procedure the group coming together.
I was using factor federal run of the mill ammo. in a 20 something round break in series after around 15 or so i noticed the group getting tighter.
I can't believe this is just a coincidence. The rifle is amazing. Makes an average or less shooter like myself look great.
