Well I was at Wally World today getting my oil changed and some shopping done when I spotted this rifle in the display case. Ive been looking for a little .22 to replace my old jammomatic Marlin semi auto. For $99 it looks to be a nice little plinker. Are these decent rifles?

good little guns and Savage will stand behind them if something ever does go wrong.

i'm thinking of a getting a left handed version for my step daughter int eh near future.

i have one, and it's an excellent plinking/critter gun.

i put a cheapo bsa scope, and a light on it for night critters.

mine doesn't like the rem. thunderbolt ammo, but works fine with cci stingers and velocitors, and any winchester or federal ammo.

Savage bolt action .22s are quite nice. I have a Mark IIGL in .22LR and a 93GL in .22 Magnum. They now come with the AccuTrigger, which rectifies the older versions' main fault -- a heavy out-of-the-box trigger.

FWIW, my Mark IIGL likes CCI .22LR Subsonic HPs. They are very accurate, printing groups that can be covered with a nickel at 50 yards.
