We had discussed the scope rail in a previous thread.
The T&E rifle they sent had a forward scope rail mounted that fully obscured the entire bottom 50% of the sight picture through the Williams aperture rear.
I doubt it was because of me, there were probably multiple complaints from early recipients, but I did pass on my irritation to the Savage rep who provided the rifle, and he forwarded that irritation to the appropriate people at Savage.
This week I got the new "channeled" replacement rail in the mail, and the rifle's at my gunsmith for the swap.
I am tool-challenged & have him do things with aluminum, Lock-Tite, rosin, and tiny threads.
He & I still have reservations about that mag latch spring, but the rifle's rotating around in the line-up, so could be a couple weeks till it gets shot.
If you bought an early new-model Scout with that bad rail, get with Savage for a replacement.
