Hello everyone. I’m new to the process for a stamp. I am thinking of SBR on a Thompson M1A1 down to the 10 inch mark. My question is what would cause a denial for a tax stamp ?

The same prohibiting factors that would cause you to be denied on any other firearm purchase.
The only difference is the National Firearms Act requires your background check before they affix the stamp to your Form 1 and mail it to you.
When you fill out the Form 1 you'll answer those questions.

The efile form 1 is under a month right now.
No reason to do a paper form 1 unless you like to wait 10-12 months.

Boogering up the form. Not all the drop menu choices are accurate, the drop menus populate from things people have entered there before regardless of whether their stamp was approved as submitted or not. There are several guides with pictures to doing it.

MM is right. My Application was kicked because I selected the wrong “variation” of the model number of the firearm I was trying to register. Something simple like inserting a hyphen or leaving it out.

I know a lot of people have had this issue with this Sig MPX by trying to put in the actual Sig Sauer model number from their case label rather than just "Sig MPX." ATF wants what's on the receiver, not the stock descriptor of the particular variant.
