Yes, Haley signed the Bill allowing Georgia residents to carry in SC. That was only half of the equation.

I received word today that Georgia's Attorney General has agreed to recognize SC's permits. Handgunlaw.us has SC listed as a reciprocal state on Georgia's reciprocity list. Handgunlaw.us is very reliable.

"Permits/Licenses This State Honors Listed Below

Alabama Alaska Arkansas Arizona Colorado
Florida, Idaho Indiana Iowa Kansas
Kentucky Louisiana Maine Michigan Mississippi
Missouri Montana New Hampshire North Carolina North Dakota
Ohio Oklahoma Pennsylvania South Carolina South Dakota
Tennessee Texas Utah West Virginia Wisconsin
Wyoming."

It wasn't up to the GA AG to give reciprocity to SC. He does not have that power. He only maintains the reciprocity list.

GA law is clear..........as soon as another state accepts our GWCL, then we automatically give them reciprocity. It is not up to some govt offical to say OK.

So as soon as Gov. Haley put pen to paper on last Friday making the bill law.............Georgia automatically had reciprocity with SC.

So it was the only part of the equation.

While that is true, Georgia's AG still felt it was worthy of his time to issue an opinion and officially announce the change in reciprocity. http://law.ga.gov/press-releases/2016-06-06/south-carolina-added-attorney-general-olens-list-states-entitled-georgia%E2%80%99s

I have drivers pass me everyday as they start accelerating before they get to the sign showing the increase in the speed limit. I prefer to wait until I reach the sign to speed up or in this case prefer to see it officially announced before I begin carrying in a previously forbidden zone. An ounce of prevention and all that.

Your location says you live in SC. Do you have a CWP? If you do either you didn't pay attention in class or you need to get your money back from your instructor.

I do. Our class was about 1 hr of instruction, a written exam, a range qual. I'm gonna guess that 90% of instructors don't know about the bus nonsense, and about 99% of LE.

I disagree. I think SC's firearms laws are entirely tolerable and in most cases common sense.

"Tolerable" is not what I strive for when it comes to restrictions on my freedoms. You can do as you please.

Feel free to sit back and let others do the heavy lifting.
