Does anybody have a good source of info on shotgun patterns? Slow motion video of pellets in flight?

It's pretty apparent tha full shoots tighter than cylinder but how do chokes work? How long is your shot string? Do steel pellets drift in wind at 40 yards?

Random questions but figured some of the die hard shotgun guys would know

Brister's book is still excellent. Physics hasn't changed a bit from the dawn of time until the present. All the hoopla about steel and/or tungsten shot is just that; it behaves the same relative to choke, there are just fewer flyers, and the different densities change downrange performance. Better shot cups can also improve patterns all else being the same.

Let's see if this works. If it does it is a really big shotgun.

Usually, all else being equal, the smaller the gauge and tighter the choke the longer the shot string. Yes, pellets drift in the wind but usually not enough to be much of an issue given the size of the pattern at that range.
