Scope for Marlin 1894

My .44mag Marlin 94 is an old one and wears an old 2.5 power scope wit a thick center post and a cross reticle; not the usual bullseye configuration. I think it's a Redfield - that tells you how old since I can't swear to it - but without pulling the rifle out I'll go by the photo and it looks kinda like a Redfield. I also have several old steel tube Weavers and it looks like a Weaver, too.

Well I got the scope, mounts and rail today. I was impressed by the craftsman ship of it all. Big fear getting the screws out of the tapped holes in the receiver did not happen, as they came right out. Installed the rail and scope bases to try and the scope came out the exact height I needed. Same with eye relief. Tomorrow will get it all finalized and bore sighted with my laser. Then out to the range sometime this week.

Sorry I was busy and did not get the scope mounted until today. I used my laser bore sight tool and decided it was close enough and not to mess with until I can put some holes in the paper at the range. I did my normal mount the rings on the rail which aside from a cheap allen (for the rail) wrench was great. I leveled the rifle using the rings both directions and took the scope level off the elevation adjustment cap. The cross hairs look perfect, the eye relief puts my lower jaw on the stock at the right height for me.
Here I what I ordered from Amazon from suggestions here, except the scope is not a $250 model. I am headed out to range sometime this week.

Out to the Range today, beautiful day finally got a chance to sight in the Marlin 1894 in 44 Mag. I used 44 Special to get it close and then switched over to those 44 Magnum pictured. At 25 Yards and six shots fired at this target. FYI the Bushnell scope that I checked with my laser bore sight was on the target ASAP. Very happy with the rifle, the scope and the mounts. Thanks for the help I received here.

Thanks for the range report...... Looks like you got it all dialed in.. My only suggestion now will be to recheck the torque on all those screws after the first 50-100 rounds. Just a quick check.... If any are getting loose it will be very apparent and better to catch it now rather than later.
