seating depth on 9mm Rainier 115 grain hp

Can anyone using these give me your seating depth. I normally run a Zero or X-Treme at about a 1.120 on their hp's but the Rainiers are a bit taller. Should I compensate for the longer bullet length by leaving a larger COAL while retaining roughly the same bearring surface depth in the case?

No, you should take the barrel out of your gun and use it for a chamber gage to see how long you can seat without it hitting the rifling.

Measuring & book length OAL doesn't amount to much if your barrel has a short leade chamber.

I am at 1.124 with them now and they drop in all my barrel's fine. Should I try a longer coal until it touches and then come back a little shorter. Right now it looks like they are way to far out of the case appearance wise..... they fit fine but look weird having so much bullet out of the brass.

I ran the Ranier 115 Gr RN (lots of them) at 1.130 to 1.135 OAL with good success.

I use the Rainer 115gr HP seated at 1.125", this load has fed and fired 100% in my Walther P99. Just remember to work up any load with a new COAL, 9mm can see major pressure differences will small seating depth changes.

Spot on!! But I would add that you also need to make sure it will function through the magazine and not fall out while handling and loading.

Any part of a bullet that does not touch in the bbl has no effect (or is it affect?) on pressure, I think.
