I'm looking at some 380 load data that calls for an OAL that yields .190 seating depth. I've put some rounds together to these dimensions, and it takes almost no pressure on the press to seat the bullets to that depth. The cases are properly sized, and flared minimally. 9mm rounds usually seat deeper than that.

I'm concerned that this seating depth is not deep enough for the bullets to be adequately secure in the cases.

Other than pressure considerations, is there a usual range of desirable seating depth for a given caliber?

What OAL? Lead, plated, jacketed?

Your sizer may not be tight enough, or your expander too large, or a little of both, or you are over flaring.

I haven't loaded any .380 in some time, but .190 doesn't sound too bad.

That seating depth works for some of my 124gr RN 9mm Luger loads.
I do prefer deeper, but these function just fine.
