I have a good friend begging me to buy my Sig 938. At the same time, I have become a really big fan of CZ, and the gun I mentioned feels very nice in my hand (a little nicer than the Sig because its bigger).

My wife and daughter love my Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan, and therefore they really don't shoot the P938.

I know the "right" answer is to have both, but selling the Sig would make it financially easier.

So, thoughts on trading the Sig for the CZ??

So you want a double stack or single stack? That is a pretty big difference that will effect comfort in your hand and the way you carry.

If you can shoot both, try that out

As much as I like CZ pistols, the RAMI is just a little bit too bulky for me as a CCW. Greatly prefer the size, weight, and design ergonomics of the P938. Have you had a chance to shoot the RAMI? How does it compare to your P938?

I agree... I own a P938, but had my heart set on purchasing a Rami based off of watching YouTube vids and seeing pics over the inet. Well, that was until yesterday when I actually handled one at my LGS. They are bigger, heavier, and outright bulkier than I thought. I can't see myself EDCing that thing everyday all year around, but YMMV....

If the Sig isn't getting much use, and you rather have a bigger gun that as you say, fits your hand better, then it should be an easy decision for you too make.

I'm just surprised that the females in your family aren't attached to the P938, and rather shoot the Alaskan.

Yea, they just love the revolver. My wife complains about the kick of the little 938, then shoots magnum shells out of the Alaskan. Go figure.

I have handled the Rammi but not shot it yet. I like the feel of it, albeit larger than the 938. I live in a communist state (MD), so I don't get to carry unless I go out of state. So right now it's really acting as mostly a range gun, and as such, I'm ok with the size of the Rammi. My guess the Rammi would shoot with less recoil, but not sure? Either way it doesn't matter. I find the 938's recoil to be very manageable.

Thanks for the input.

They are both totally different guns. Apples to Oranges
I like both Sigs and CZ a lot, but the Rami is not one of my favorites

If you can not carry either and have a 10 round mag limit neither is a range gun.

I have always considered the P938 to be a very easy shooter with minimal recoil for a pistol of it's size. The Sig is an easy to conceal pistol with exceptional accuracy at close ranges, since I have a large assortment of pocket pistols it is no surprise that the Sig P 238 and P938 are among my favorites. The CZ's are fine pistols but not exactly comfortable to carry.

Everyone who is responding, including myself, responded with the idea in mind that you're planing to carry either of these pistols. Being that you don't plan to carry, I think the CZ would be a better choice in your situation. Plus, you don't seem too fond of the Sig compared to the CZ.

Why not make the trade?

If you looking for approval of discussion forum members you will likely be disappointed as each of us have different tastes and needs in firearms.

Beside there is nothing special about the SIG. There is nothing in the gun owners rulebook that says you can't buy another one later (which I have done several times).

Of course feel free to ignore my comments as I need to go to the mancave and install a SRT on my SIG today.

I bought and put them on all my Sigs!:)

Styx, I'm nor sure why there was an assumption about carrying. My opening post did not reference carry at all.

It was probably because people assumed it was about carry due to the P938's size?

To answer your question, yes I assumed it was a carry piece due to their size, especially the Sig. I own a 938 and it's been great, especially when I need to pocket carry. I know you're asking about the Rami, but have you considered a larger CZ if you're not going to carry it? I have the 75 Compact and love it. I also recently picked up a Canik S-120, a clone of the full size CZ 75. The Canik shoots well, has a great reputation and was $335 at Bud's.

TomJ, as I ponder this decision I have in fact asked myself if a 75 compact would fit the bill. I think the answer is yes. I recently bought a 97BD, and that's a very impressive gun. Maybe I need to expand my search. My FFL is a competition shooter and he loves CZ's. When I handled his Rammi, I was hooked.

Thanks for all the responses.

Ok, I have ordered the 75 D PCR. The decocker model was pretty hard to find, but I got one at a good price. Still unsure about selling my P938......

Thanks for the responses, which ultimately changed my choice of pistols.

The PCR is my main carry gun and has been for 15 years. You made a great choice. It is a true, do it all 9MM.

Keep the P938 for summer carry. I am looking at getting one. The RAMI is a great pistol but isn't much smaller than the PCR.

Pilot, thank you. Do you have any holster suggestions? I'm a lefty so I may or may not need custom?

I carry my PCR OWB in a Galco Shadow II holster designed for the Sig P228/P229. It fits better than my Sig does, and I greatly prefer the PCR anyway. I am a righty however, but if you look for holsters made for the Sig P228/P229 you can find something much easier.

Enjoy the PCR!

Perfect. Thanks. I'm sure I can find a lefty 228 holster no problem.

One of my most favorite of all pistols! Excellent choice!:) Perfect size. weight and accuracy. Good for most any purpose.

Good Choice! The PCR is my main carry gun. The full size 75BD is becoming one of my favorite range guns though, but the PCR is fun to shoot at the range as well.

Do you have the rubber grips (w/palm swell & finger grooves) and extended, 7-rd mag on the 938? Those make a WORLD of difference in handling it (since you cannot carry, they won't make a difference there).

Andy

BigJake, yes I have the rubber grips and i also use the 7 round magazine.
