Ops Inc makes some of the more sought after suppressors out there, thing is most all of the things goto the military for use on rifles such as the M16s in the SPR configuration.

Durable and well made. The Ops Inc two port SPR brake is said to be a darn good brake as well.

What a person to get some help from in building up a rifle, the guy a family friend or what?

Friend of the family owns a gun shop (not the one that helped build the 50) and I try to get to know as many people through him as possible, hes one of them. The guys not quite "all there" he shot out the inner tires of a Semi's dualies about 10 years ago because he cut him off... the cops had a road block and guns drawn waiting for him, the army got him out of all charges against him (temp insanity I think) :D . I made a note to never cut him off. :uhoh:

50 Shooter:
In your mind, what's the best SEMI-AUTO .50 rifle weighing less than 40 lbs??

Seeing how there are only two semi's that are out there, the M82 and the M2 from TNW, the M82 would be it.

There's the Pauza, if you can find one but from what I've heard about it, it's VERY finicky. The semi by Knights probably won't see the light of day and it's hard to tell if Mark Serbu will get his going.

The guy that makes the Ultramag 50, .50 BMG upper for an AR-15 lower came up with a semi-auto .50 upper based on his design.

Then there's the Cobb 50, they have a bolt action that looks like an oversized AR-15. Their semi will probably be based on the same design, haven't heard anything else about when or if it will come out.

Well for my capstone project after two years of a tech college I built a flight simulator. Computer interface with a VR headset and a seat w/harness all bolted atop a hydraulic movement platform controlled by a PLC and proportional valves. Cost about 1k.

Capstone project (hopefully) after another year at UMaine and an Engineering degree? A laser microphone that will hopefully cost me under $100. Yeah, definately a better education at the tech school. ;)

Your comparing an M82 to your friends bolt gun?Your comparing an M82 to your friends bolt gun?

50 Shooter- That's definately NOT an M82, looks like an M95 or M99 to me.

Also, I think the 2-3MOA was more than adequate for the M82's envisioned role, as an Anti-material rifle. (though accuracy is ALWAYS good, there are tradeoffs.)

What kind of ammunition are you shooting to get such poor accuracy?

A friend of mine has a Armalite AR-50 - which has by no means a match chamber, it's very long throated - and can shoot half-MOA groups at 1000 yards, with his reloads.

Oops, your right Art. Looked to quick at it, looks like an M99.

I'm curious about the ammo also, most out of the box .50's will shoot MOA or better with quality ammo.
