I am thinking now about getting a Shadow 2 for USPSA Carry Optics, but I hate double actions!!

Can the double action trigger pull be reduced by any significant amount????

CZ makes a SA Shadow 2 that would solve your problem or does USPSA require a DA/SA firearm?

Another option is to send the pistol of to Cajun Gun Works for a trigger job. That’ll help, but you still wont end up with the same pull you’ll get with a SAO setup.

Carry Optics USPSA requires that the gun be D/A So..................How much difference would a trigger job actually reduce the pull by??

Cajun Gun Works did a trigger upgrade on one of my pistols. The trigger pull is lighter, but the real benefits are more subtle. The biggest benefit to me is the “reach reduction kit”. This moves the position of the trigger back toward the grip (I think it’s something like 3 or 5 mm, but I’ve forgotten). Everything is smoother as they spend time polishing the appropriate trigger parts. Polishing happens naturally as you fire the trigger, CGW just speeds the process up. They go with lighter weight springs which reduces trigger pull, but replace parts so you end up with a very reliable pistol.

Check out their website. Cajungunworks.com

Thanks for the info Ray, I appreciate it!

People have 5 or 6 pound triggers in those guns, easy. I shoot a tanfoglio and mine weighs more than that on a scale, but I prefer the feel of the Tanfo to the CZ

Is a Tanfolio truly as good as a CZ? I know they are copies of CZ but?

A CZ has never won USPSA Nationals or IPSC Worlds but the Tanfoglios do, constantly, so there's your answer, right?

CZ DA and SA pulls can be made very nice by Cajun Gun Works. I put the $70 spring kit and lengthened firing pin in my new PO1 myself. This reduced the pull considerably from stock:

DA: 6lb 11 oz average for 10

SA: 3lb 4 oz average for ten.

If I had gone the full monty and paid for a CGW action job (with the new parts this entails) the DA pull weight would be even lighter and the SA pull crisper.

Stay safe.

Send it to Cajun and they can hook you up and make your Shadow 2 a carry gun too!

I love putting this thing in my pants
