In order to not dream about 1858 Remingtons tonight :banghead: I'll ask if anyone has/uses any of the Sharps rifle reproductions and what is your experience/opinion of them?

I am tickled pink with my 1874 Sharps Business Rifle replica.

Just took it out to sight in for Wisconsin whitetail season - 535gr Postell bullet on top of 70gr Goex Cartridge grade black powder. Pretty darned accurate, and a lot of fun, even from a guy who's been shooting smokeless rifles for 30+ years. If you get one, I doubt you'll ever be disappointed. Prices range from just this side of $1000 to over $5000, depending on where it's made and who made it. Some of the cheaper ones aren't particularly well-fitted and finished, so at a minimum I'd suggest a Pedersoli or better. If you can afford it, by all means go with Shiloh Sharps or C. Sharps.

I have a Shiloh Sharps long range express with haevy barrel (34") and a RHO instruments period 6x scope, if you can afford a Shiloh that's the way to go. Most of their rifle are in the $1500 range but it is an exact copy of the original so much so that the parts they make will interchange with the original.
Can't shoot my Sharps as well due to a detached retina and no it didn't happen because of the rifle.
The Pedersoli's are ok but they just don't compare with the Shiloh Sharps

I have taken antelope, deer, and elk with mine.. Have hit a metal buffalo at a 1000 yds. Other than causing a grin like the grill on the front of a 57 Buick when shooting it, they ain't nuthin' special..
