So I have a good kid in general. We have been quite blessed with her overall, but tonight she did my inner gun geek proud.

So I taught her to shoot with a suppressed and scoped 10/22 so optics are her comfort zone. I have exposed her to iron sights and she has done a little bolt action .22 shooting and a few shots out of an AR15 etc. but in general scopes are her comfort zone.

Over the last year she has been doing more air gun shooting with me. I put together an Air Arms T200 PCP rifle with a scope and magazine feed for her as that both lets her not worry about cocking an air rifle and keeps her closer to what she learned on. She and I have been shooting little competitions against each other and I am proud to say she has won a couple against me.

Her T200 is at the top. It now sports a magazine feed.

Well tonight she came down and asked to shoot. I, of course, said yes but this time I handed her an HW30s spring piston rifle with iron sights on it. (Apertures).

The HW30 she was shooting is at the bottom.

She immediately starting saying she wouldn't be able to hit anything etc. Once I taught her about the apertures and the sight picture she just kept saying "the target is too small". Well that's because you aren't using magnified optics and you are also going to have a little recoil to compared to "your gun". I cocked and loaded for her and she settled in and .............. FIRST SHOT JUST HIGH OF CENTER. :D

Her subsequent shots were excellent. This is her first time with an air rifle with aperture sights at around 19-20 yards and although she has shot a couple spring guns she has been shooting her PCP with no recoil so iron sights, recoil and first time with an aperture and she turns in this...........brings a tear to my eye. :D Out of her comfort zone......puleezeee .:D

6 shots, aperture sights, 19-20 yards....."I don't think I will even hit the target I might hit the wall." o_O

So that's my girl. I am proud of her in general and she is an amazing kid but tonight my inner gun geek is beaming with pride.

Take care, shoot safe,
Chris

Like the 3-Rifles.. I don't think I would want a shooting Match with Her - She did a Great Job..

There is something magical about that darn HW30s! I also have the "Stainless" (looks like electroluss nickel) model from Airguns of Arizona. Can't thank you enough for pointing out this new bundle of joy in my life. You are truly blessed to have a daughter like that...
