I finally got my 25-year-old homebuilt T/C Hawken all shined up. The brass was a dull, very dark patina, about the same color as my browned barrel, without a trace of shine to it.

This stuff got every last bit of the brass mirror-shiny. I am absolutely amazed! Now she looks all pretty on the wall.

(I do not have any connection to Nevr-Dull. I don't even know where Freeport NY is. A guy at a boat shop recommended this stuff, and I am just passing along my experience.)

I've used it and think it's good...but I keep forgetting I have it on the shelf...old habits die hard and every couple years I find myself buying another can or two of 'Brasso'...THEN remember I still have some never-dull left :)

As general info, I'll pass along another tip that I read somewhere and found it to be 100% true for working on "heavily tarnished brass"...soak it in 'White Distilled Vinegar" from a grocery store...its cheap...and it's like magic.

Fill a plastic bowl with enough to cover a piece of tarnished brass and let it sit for 2-3 days...then dry it off and briefly wipe it with a cloth and brasso (or any kind of brass cleaner I assume) and it's factory new looking without a lot of rubbing, polishing, etc...

It all started out when I couldn't find Brasso, despite living within easy biking distance of two Navy bases and the Marine Corps Recruit Depot.

Thanks for the White Vinegar tip. I knew there was something, but I couldn't remember what it was.

I'd still hit it with this stuff to finish it off, but I have a few other old muzzleloaders that lived in gun cases for 25 years. They also need some tarnish removal. I'll get some vinegar, too.

We use to use it on our brass snaps of our uniform leather. Nowadays, no one polishes anything. Gittin' old and don't care.

The stuff works great though I'll join in endorsing it.

I remember the good old nevr-dull, old boot camp issue nevr-dull, I despise that stuff. On the bright size you can always put it on stuff you want to light on fire when you get bored of polishing.
