OK. I've read old posts here about shipping firearms. I've read about shipping on other forums. I've visited UPS and FedEx websites, and saw for my own eyes how expensive it is for a non-FFL to ship a handgun.

Has anyone used shipmygun.com as an alternative to paying non-FFL shipping fees to UPS and FedEx? The fees seem much more reasonable, but perhaps I'm missing something. I have several handguns and long guns that I want to sell, and would like to know what experiences everyone has had with shipmygun.com's shipping service. Does it work well? Drawbacks? Cost?

Thanks!!

You can ship a hand gun USPS if you have an FFL fill out and sign their little form. Last time I did it it cost me $10, and I gave the FFL a ride to the P.O.

YMMV

Just find a dealer to mail it for you. I do it several times a week for less than what Bud's charges through Shipmygun.com

YOU can't ship a handgun via USPS no matter who fills out the little form.
It's not just filling out a little form, the FFL must log it into his records and log out to the receiving FFL. He cannot relinquish possession to anyone but the USPS.

Was Eisenhower still President?:D
Heck, I charge $10 plus actual postage/insurance/adult signature on delivery......even without my $10 fee the USPS fees run over $25 for a flat rate box w/insurance and adult sig.

I used them on a recent handgun sale to a fellow on the west coast. It ended up being around $50. By contrast I send a handgun myself to Alabama via UPS overnight 3-4 years ago and it was closer to $80.

I entered all the info and then printed out a prepaid FedEx overnight shipping label. I then boxed up the gun and took it to the FedEx office. Easy and painless. The main thing is to try to get the recipient to agree to use one of their FFLs that they already have info for, or an FFL that's willing to send them their info. Unlike when I sent a gun on my own I didn't have to show the counter person a copy of the recipient's FFL.

Does UPS ship guns? If you have Paypal, they offer discounted post office and UPS rates. Google Paypal postage discount.

I bought one gun through Gunbroker and the seller requested an FFL dealer in my town for the gun to be delivered to and I sent a copy of the FFL with the money order. It was pretty straight forward and cost $25 for the FFL.
