A poster mentioned that he enjoyed watching shooting matches online and "on the television (the 3 times a century they show them."
Rather than hijack his thread, I thought I would mention the several shooting shows that I watch on OLN and The Outdoor Channel.
I record several shooting shows each week with my DVR (like TIVO) on digital cable. Shooting USA, Sighting In, Gun Tech, Shooting Gallery, Guns and Ammo, and American Rifleman. I program the DVR to record any airing of such shows, and I watch them at my leisure.
Shooting USA, Sighting In, and Shooting Gallery often feature competitions. The Jim Scoutten shows (Shooting USA and Sighting In) are pretty professional quality. Here is the homepage for them: http://www.shootingusa.com/index.html
The other shows listed are less professional in production quality, but the substance is there. You take what you can get.
The History Channel series "Shootout" is very impressive. Recent shows have detailed gun battles in the WWII Pacific, WWII Germany, Afghanistan, Fallujah, and the Wild West. They talk a good deal about the arms and tactics involved. The North Hollywood Shootout is coming up next. Schedules for Shootout are at http://www.historychannel.com/
I also listen to Tom Gresham's radio show: Gun Talk. http://www.guntalk.com/ It airs on Sunday afternoons 1 to 4 Central Time, and archived shows are on the site. You can also listen to it online via links at the site.
If you know of other shooting shows on TV or radio, please chime in and give us info on where to watch or listen.
