Curious to see what fellow THR'ers think.

All things equal (employment, family, etc.),

Does a devoted 2A person stay in California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois and sacrifice his individual 2A rights (nuetered gun ownership, no CCW, no high cap magazines, certain weapons banned) and try to change the rules, knowing that it may never happen ...

OR ...

...Move residence to a free state and enjoy the 2A?

From an individual perspective I would move ASAP and leave the anti-gunning state to themselves. However from a 2A community position, if pro gun folks flee these states it ensures that the anti-gunners will have a stronghold on it and pass even more bad legislation which tends to bleed into the rest of the country (for instance, DC was always pressuring neighborhing states to change THEIR laws because it effected DC, as DC argued). We really need pro-gun folks to move INTO these states and take over to recapture the 2A.

For me I would move but alot of people are too "comfortable" or just lazy to do that sort of thing.

And as a followup... it may be easy for us to tell others to move from their states as those states became anti-gun in the last couple decades...

But imagine suddenly overnight in the course of a few months, the anti's seized control somehow of the mentality of legislatures and caused sweeping anti-gun laws in just YOUR state (no CCW, no 10+ round mags, no 'assault weapons' etc.). Assuming it may take years to undo the laws, would you stay or move?

Take your tax dollars and leave. Most of the anti-gun States also have very onerous tax laws. Depriving that state from your hard earned $$$$ is the best way to rebel against such States.

Remember the Alamo? ;)

The great American tradition is to leave. That's why people left Europe in the first place, why they went West when they got here. Go where there is freedom and opportunity.

I'm not going any where!

we can't let these communists run us out of our homes and towns.........

LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE A SOCIALIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fortunately I don't have to move. I love Arizona. However, if I was in one of those places and assuming I wasn't brainwashed by the culture there I'd move as soon as I was able to.
