I live in Mass. and went to a gun show in Mass. today and a dealer had a Smith and Wesson M&P 45 caliber for sale. I asked him where he got it because I haven't seen any out anywhere in Mass. yet. He didn't realize that they weren't out yet in Mass. , he told me he was from Conn. He wants $589.00 for it and told me he had someone to do the transfer. I want one when they come out in Mass. and I could get it alot cheaper with the rebate and the two free mags, but the Conn. one has only a 6.5 pound trigger pull. Should I go back and get it or should I just wait and get the Mass. version with the heavy trigger?

I don't think it is legal in Mass. because of the trigger pull. But after you own it you can do what you want with it anyway.

Legal or not, should I buy it, what could happen if it is not legal?

If you are wondering why this thread is closed, let me explain. Asking if something is illegal is OK. Even being incorrect about legality is OK depending on intent.

This is not OK.

To me, it appears as though the intent is "screw the law, it's my property, I'll do what I want with it."
Whether the transaction is legal ceases to be an issue.
The issue becomes flagrant disregard for the law.
Thus, this one is closed.
