Sierra 69 grain .224 bullet length?

Hello everyone, I am trying to find out the bullet length of some of the popular 68 and 69 grain match bullets but am have no luck. Does anyone know or have some they could measure?

69g, think it's the Sierra - 0.880"

Just remember the Greenhill twist rate formula doesn't work very well for BTHPM projectiles.

My Sierra 69 gr. SMKs miked out at .895", if that helps.

That would be Boat Tail Hollow Point Match.

What is your barrel's twist, by the way? If it's 1:12 or slower it's highly unlikely that it will shoot 69 grain match bullets accurately. A 1:8 twist barrel should shoot them just fine.

Sorry to dig this up, but my twist is 1:10 18.5".

1:10 18.5" - sounds like a Mini-14.

Stability of Sierra 69g in my prior similar Mini-14 was fine, if you ignored the walking zero as the barrel heated up :-(

Hornady 68g HPBTM projectile should be fine in that twist rate too.

I dont have much of an issue with the barrel walking due to the Accu-strut. Sound like I'll have to try these then.
