So, I'm having trouble finding a factory holster for the SIG 220 Legion in 10mm. I got the SA/DA one (it was a hard choice, the SA Only is real nice.)
Ideally I'd like to get both a strong side OWB holster and a vertical shoulder holster for this gun.
I spoke to someone at Galco and he said that they don't make holsters for this model of gun, and would not make a custom holster for it. He also said the 10mm is thicker than the .45 and so the SIG 220 .45 holsters do not work. It sounded like learned by experience.
(He did say if there was enough interest they would consider making some holster for the gun, but I know it's a fairly low-production number gun. Hmmmm.)
So, besides the width there is also that it's a longer barrel than most other Sig 220s.
(The Legion 220 10mm is a full 5" gun, the Legion 220 .45 is a 4.25" (Commander length) gun)
Sadness.
I've got a mix of El Paso Saddlery, Galco, and DeSantis holsters in my collection over the years. I've also checked Mitch Rosen's site. I don't see this gun called out, and all the 220 holsters appear to be for the (tens of thousands of) 4.25" "normal" length P-220s.
Usually, I really do figure out what holsters are available before I buy a gun, but in this case it spoke to me, so I took the plunge.
Now what.
(PS: concealment isn't a big issue. I have other guns for daily carry. I will use this mostly as my outdoors gun.)
