Just picked up the Sig 556 SCM (NJ compliant version) - A2 stock, no flash suppressor - rest is pure 556. Looking for any thoughts on how to break it in.
Break it down and give it a good cleaning, especially the gas piston / spring. This area is likely HEAVILY covered in the white coppertone smelling grease SIG likes to use and may cause some malfunctions if you don't clean it first.
