As you mentioned, the length is different (about 1/2"), so I'm assuming you're talking about putting a 220 Carry into a longer 220 holster. The 220 Carry is thicker at the top of the slide, and this can be a problem, especially with kydex holsters. It isn't really an issue with leather holsters. With a slide holster like the Tucker Answer, you can actually have one holster that works well with both guns just by adjusting the tension. I hope this answers your question.
