Hi Folks,

I cannot, for the life of me, find anyone who is selling custom [short] mag plungers and [long] springs to convert the factory P226 .22LR mag from 10 to 15 rounds. Been scouring several forums and search engines to no avail.

I know sigpower.com used to sell these, but he seems to have gone out of business.

Any other suppliers out there?

Thanks for your help!

Thermactor,

Thanks for posting the info! Are the BDM 15-round springs the same diameter as the stock P226/22LR springs? I take it the followers and spring retainers are all cross-compatible with P226/22LR mag bodies?

Not sure yet on the springs, but since the followers and retainers have a perfect fit with the stock spring, I'd venture to say that they should work. I haven't messed with it yet.

As far as the retainers and followers, they drop into a stock magazine with ease and seem to run as far as my experience goes.
I read somewhere about optimizing the angle of the follower's top to match factory spec, but I haven't done it yet.

Sounds good. The price is low enough that its not a big risk to give them a try. If they fit the retainer, they should work. Also, the stock spring length is 5.5", and the BDM springs are 7". That seems about perfect for the increased capacity. I ordered a 3-pack of followers/retainers and a 6-pack of 7" springs, delivered for about $13. Not bad at all.

Thanks again for the info. I'll post the results once I try everything.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, none of the items from BDM worked in my Sig P226 .22LR Mags. They seem like good products, but they are really designed for the AR15-22.

1) The followers do not slide freely in the mag... require a lot of force to push through, and are of the incorrect angle.

2) The 7" springs are too wide for the diameter of the spring shaft.

3) The spring retainers are too wide for the diameter of the spring shaft, and need to be shaved down in order to fit.

It was worth a shot, but back to the drawing board for me. Anyone know of any specialty spring dealers out there that might have something? I can use stock parts for the mod if I just have a longer spring.

Thanks!

That's quite odd. Can you post a picture of what you got and a picture of your magazine and original stuff?
