After drooling over Ruger's SR1911 for nearly three years, I finally got to hold one that was priced close to MSRP.
Looked it over carefully & then came to the realization that I did not want it so bad now that I bought four 1911 handguns due to the scarcity of the Ruger.
Sitting nearby beneath the same glass case was this P227 for only $130.00 more. I prefer the double stack fit to the single stack, so I handed the salesman my plastic card & away I went.
Got to shoot it today for the first time. I may have to pump five or six thousand rounds through er' to break er' in properly. That seems to be the number needed to get em to bed in & shoot straight n' easy. :)

Damned if I did get the last one in stock. I'm sure more will arrive soon.

P227r dak....

I'm impressed with the SIG Sauer P227R .45acp but would wait for a DAK(spurless DA only) version. Bruce Gray of Gray's Guns is well known for SIG P series SRT & DAK modifications but SIG Sauer might roll out a compact P227R in DAK or do a SAS(anti snag) version with the DAK trigger.

Most of the magazine reviews & online posts have been +.

I want one of those (jealous - my plastic card doesn't have enough backing at the moment). Congratulations and keep us informed as to any enhancements that come with age.

Nice! My primary CCW is a P226, so these really caught my attention. I would send it to Bruce Gray as well for the reduced reset carry package, it will make the DA/SA trigger amazing! I had it done to my P226 and it is way better.

The ultimate sig 45 maybe...congrats. I love the thin grip on my 220, but like the 227, it didn't feel that much different than a 226.

I'm thinking my next sig 45 may be the 320 when it comes out.

Have been thinking about a P227 to go along with my P229R E2. Always liked the P220; just wanted a few more rounds than the single stack design could provide. Now we have it.

I like DA/SA hammer fired guns with decocker.

Me too. That's how my 220 is. I never had a problem with it. And that SA pull is just sweet.

I really like the P227 too. But it seems like a copy of the Taurus PT-145 Millennium Pro design. It holds 10+1 too and it's SA/DA but a different type. I have one of those too and it is very sweet. It's thinner than the Sig but of course it isn't a Sig. Still I have never had a single problem with it and I've put about 5000 rounds through it. It's very accurate too. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna sell my P220 any time soon. That thing is built like a tank and is super accurate out to a much farther than my Taurus will stay tight.

I've been debating between an HK45 or a Sig P227 as a host for my suppressor. This looks good.
