Just got back from the LGS with my brand spanking new Sig. Tomorrow I'll have to get up before it gets too dang hot and put some rounds thru it. Man that is a beautiful gun. Now it will have a companion to my Colt Gold Cup National Match 70 Series. Below are a few pictures. :D

Well I shot it today and it is extremely accurate for a 3.5" barrel. The only problem is it strews brass all over the range. Do like the night sights. Shot a little over 60 rounds without a hiccup, including some hot reloads all off hand. I only had 2 rounds not go in the thoracic cavity, back at 25 yards out of 8 rounds. At 15-10 yards I literally shot the center out of the silhouette target. Do believe this compact is definitely a keeper.

Ok, ok as they say the proof is in the pudding.

Looks like I'm breaking my support hand, back around the 25 yard line just enough to bring my groups over to the left, as well as at the 15 yard line.

Congrats, that's a nice piece.

I have a compact 1911. I like the size very much. It quickly nudged out my SP101 as a carry piece.
I think that Sig is the best compact 1911 made. My LGS had one for a while...I regret not trading for it.

Now tell me.....what leather are you going to get for it?

kbbailey, not really sure yet I do like Bianchi, as well as Galco and DeSantis, however right now I've got a Tagua that I bought for an older compact .45. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Sig is making some of the best and most practical 1911s out there in my opinion, and much better for the money than Kimber.

Mine seems to be throwing brass all over creation as well, and I’m going to look into a 1# heavier recoil spring. I figure Sig set that based on the wide range of possible ammo loadings one could shoot from the gun, but I load mine with 230gr HSTs and practice with 230gr ball. I’m not a 1911 expert by any means, so maybe one of those could comment.

I carry mine in a home-made iwb that strangely resembles a 'summer special' with matching double mag pouch.

I do have another holster that I love....don't laugh..., it's a fobus paddle. It is a quick, secure, comfortable holster...but it is hard on the finish of the gun. It sure is nice to tuck in a waistband and go.

Shipwreck, the weight of the gun with a magazine is 25.3 ounces, according to the owners manual. Mainsail, I do believe the recoil spring is generally used to adjust for the different rounds that it might encounter (155, 165, 185, 230grn), I would think the ejector might need a bit of polishing as well as the extractor, however I'm going to wait until I get at least a couple hundred rounds down range, and see if it don't adjust.

I picked up a Tagua slide at my LGS today. It is a very versatile little hunk of leather. It has a nice sturdy belt clip. It completely covers the trigger, is ambidextrous, and can be worn IWB or OWB.
I like it already.
