I called around and the nearest gun store with P239 is an hour away. Before I make a road trip, what is the DA trigger reach like on the P239 with short trigger? Is it as short as a J frame revolver? I got midget fingers, and only thing I have been able to grip comfortably is a J frame revolver and my Keltec 32.

I have owned both in the past, but it has been some time. I seem to remember the P239's "reach" was very slightly longer. Pistols, unlike revolvers, have to accommodate a magazineful of cartridges in the grip, plus (in this case) the mainspring. Sometimes, though, just paper measurements don't tell the whole story. Even though it might be a bit out of your way, I would still recommend you actually hold one.

Tom's little brother, Sigmund.

I agree though. I find the P239 to be superbly comfortable (and am very seriously considering the 9mm version as my only handgun), and I have average sized hands. You may disagree though, and it'd be a shame to find out after spending the money on the weapon.

If it matters...

"Sauer" in German is pronounced Zowah (maybe an "implied" r at the end). Probably named for a river in Luxembourg, but it also means sour, acid...or angry! It has no relationship to the english trade (and name) sawyer.

"Säure" is pronounced Zoyehr and means acid (noun).

And I pronounce it Sour. :D

Just got back from the gun shop. No good. The P239's trigger reach is too long for my taste. It's similar to the Makarov. I know Sig makes a short trigger, but I don't think it'll make enough difference for me. I guess it's back to the ol' J frame. But I also got to handle a Hi Power, and that fit my hand good and trigger reach is acceptable. Tough to conceal though. And super expensive.
