Sights for a Win 94

I'm not sure if they would be in your way
When I talked to Williams today I asked if I would need to remove the site for use with their site and I was told it would be in the way so I would guess that would be true for any of the sites. I ordered a dovetail blank along with it.

I thought about going with the Skinner sites too but they require drilling the receiver which I didn't want to do.

It's true that the barrel-mounted sight will be in the way when you use a reciever sight.

Now, if you've shot your rifle with the open sight to see its hitting close, you might conceivably set your 5-D, for starters, by co-witnessing before you remove the open sight. But I don't advise trying to shoot with both rear sights in place.

As a followup to this I ordered a Williams 5D and blank for the dovetail. It came today, hopefully will have it on the rifle this weekend.

Originally was going to go with a Lyman 66 but when I read the reviews I was turned off. Complaints were it's made of aluminum and can be bent, also the screws constantly come loose.

Saw no bad reviews on the 5D so went that route.
I was one of those that complained about the newer Lymans being made from aluminum. I was very disappointed when I found that out, especially since I had just spent so much money to get it. I agree the Williams receiver sights can be bent too, but they might hold their position better.

In the 35 years I've owned it, I've been around the world twice on sight and scope options for my old ('59 model) Win 94. If that gun you have were mine, I'd loosen that set screw, drive out the dovetail, and install a Williams dovetail sight with the aperture instert, or a Skinner peep designed to fit in that dovetail. I have found that my eyes much prefer the forward mounted rear peep sight than a receiver peep, and receiver peeps always got in the way of my hands when I was trying to carry the rifle.
