For two years a Keltec P-11, Bone stock 870 pump in 20 ga, bone stock 1100 in 20 ga, Model 10, Model 94 in 30-30, NAA mini revolver 1 1/8" in .22lr, Beretta 21A in .22lr, Two -Gov't Model of 1911, USGI mags ( with da dimple on follower
) and Shrade Old Timer 340T...
Have been in an attic here in the South, with heat and humidity, and freezing temps we experienced.
Guns were blasted with CRC Brakleen, lubed with Havoline Auto Transmission Fluid (Dexron IIE) because that is what my truck uses and it was handy. Externals - Light coat of RIG, except on one 1911, that one had Mother's Caruba car wax ( it was handy and what I prefer to use on my truck).
Wood on long guns got the Johnson's Paste wax.
Yes the attic was safe from prying eyes and secure. Just put the long guns in a gun rack, set the handguns on pc of wood along with extra mags, speedloaders, extra ammo as applicable.
Knife was new, just taken from box and let fall on the wood as it came from factory.
No rust, no fuss, no muss. Just taken down,("whew"- blow dust off them) pointed downrange and the guns all fired, as did all mags, speedloaders, and ammo. No hiccups no nothing.
Yes the guns all had a round chambered ( except revolvers of course) and the 1911s cocked and locked.
The knife tarnished a bit , still sharp tho'.
*shrug* Something to do. Fella has place in the country, secure safe setting , has other guns to use and such- like I said something to do.
Yes he has a safe, [you do gotta know where to find it tho'] just wanted to show a SIL some stuff works, always has, always will and not to worry about some stuff.
Now the old wooden trunk, metal hinges , leather handles his wifey sprayed with WD40 - eww, mildew and really funky.
