Hey yall. This thread is just about nostalgia....the good ole
single-barrel shotgun. My first shotgun was a 20ga H&R Mod 58
that my grandad gave me. Still have it, and it is still, to this day
my favorite shotgun. Although it is overshadowed by my 870, 500, and Stoeger Coachgun (all 12ga), I have many fond memories of that little single-shot. Even thinking about buying another! Anyways, this is for those who want to share their experience with single-barrels, and maybe pass along a few stories too. Any replies greatly appreciated!

"...have many found memories..." Given to you by your grandda. It'll create memories.
Never had a single shot myself, but I remember my Hungarian O/U fondly. Traded it, with a busted extractor/ejector for a vintage Trapdoor carbine. Should have kept the carbine.

Hello friends and neighbors // When dove season arrives I think of all the youngsters eager to take their single barrel .410s out, just like my friends and I did 38 years ago.

Nothing has change except the shotgun.

The only singe barrel shotgun I have now is an H&R model 1900 12ga. a little too much wobble in the 100+ year old to chance shooting it these days.

My first and only single-shot shotgun was an Ithaca M-66, Supersingle, youth model, in 20 ga., with a 26" Mod choke barrel.

I didn't shoot it a lot. Don't know that I ever killed anything with it. I got it for Christmas one year, toward the end of hunting season. By the time the next hunting season had come around I had graduated to a double 12.

I kept the Ithaca for years though. I guess my son has it now. It got misplaced during a divorce.

Your title says single BARREL, although I believe you mean single shot....:D
The only single shot I have is a H&R 223 rifle. I need all the help I can get, so I typically go with double barrels, but I have shot with some folks who own them and every now and again, they bring them out for some fun at the 5-stand, shooting as teams on the pairs......lot of fun
