The George Lawrence Company, while it was in business
in Portland, OR, stamped two numbers on the back of its
holsters. The first was the model number; for example,
the Model 34 was the FBI-style sheath. The second number
was the size code; for example, size 528 fit a 6-inch
S&W K22 or K38.

Does anyone on this forum have a link or other source
for the complete list of these Lawrence size codes? The
reason that I ask is that these fine old holsters are
occasionally listed on the various Internet auction
sites. However, the seller usually doesn't know what gun
the holster fits, but he will give the size code.

Thanks for your help.

The Stoeger Arms Co. was a big New York distributor of everything related to guns, including Lawrence holsters. I believe at least one of their catalogs are available as reprints, and you often find originals at gun shows for modest prices. Anyway, I think they have the chart you need. A web search under "stoeger" might turn up something.

Darn...no scanner.

Old Fuff triggered it...
Page 234-235 of 1967 Herter's catalog also has chart for Lawrence Holsters.

The charts are out there, just gotta find em.

Old Fuff and C. R. Sam:

Thanks for the reminder about the old catalogs. I threw
away my old Herter's catalogs about thirty years ago,
but I found my original copy of the 1961 Stoeger's
Shooters Bible (No. 52). On page 350 is a list of the
Lawrence size codes. Thanks again.
