Sizing 357 sig

can it be done with out lube if a 40 and a 357 sig die is used. and if so is there any thing special that needs to be done doing it this way.

I also use the Dillon Carbide sizing die and Hornady One Shot lube, but I run mine through a Magma Case Master Jr. first, which sizes the whole case, including the rim, but doesn't touch the neck. That's what the Dillon die is for.

I don't know why people are so rabid about not using lube for pistol rounds. I just tumble mine in untreated corn cob for about 20 minutes and all the lube is removed.

Yes, you can. I use a carbide .40 sizer die in the first station followed by a set of LEE .357 sig dies. Seems to work fine. I've run about 3k this way so far.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm just lazy. :D

I guess if I shot more revolver rounds, I probably would. I mostly shoot auto, and those little, short, somewhat tapered, cases are no big deal through the sizer. :)
 
I too bought the 96.00 carbide Dillon die and use lube on every 30th round. Keeps my die happy and I ain't gotta do each one.:D:D:D
 
Go to www.realguns.com and look at all of his articles on reloading the .357 Sig. There is quite a bit of really good information there and it will give you insight into the specifics of the cartridge. Two-diameter reloading is really second best and you'll see why after reading the articles.
