1894picture.jpg Anyone have any experience with these? Thinking about installing them on my Marlin model 1894.

I had the low profile version on a mossberg 464 with a couple different apertures. No complaints, other than that I ended up shooting better with the factory irons. Probably just didn't practice enough.

I have one on my Henry .45-70, but it required a tall front sight (which I them also bought). No issues with it. But I remember hearing, subsequently, there are other options which may be better. Can't recall the specifics though.

I have one on my Winchester 9422 with the adjustable diopter. I really like it, they make quality sights.

I installed one on my Henry long barrel frontier and found it covered up a bunch of the target. It's resting in the package it came in as the company wasn't interested in doing a return. I found a Lyman tang sight to be a much better option for me.

I installed one on Thumper (my Marlin 1894CB in 45-70). Love it!

Ooooo. Need to get me one of those. All I have is the 1895CB in 45-70. Hehe. I’m sure you either mean 44 mag or 357 or 1895.

More to the point.... I prefer XS sights if given the choice. I’ve had two Marlins with Skinners. One had the basic rear and the Bear front sight. I liked it best with no aperture insert.

I have a Skinner Express sight on my 1894SS that the gun came with. The factory sight was too low so I got an XS front sight more recently.

The standard patridge front sight is a must for me. I hate beads after using basic patridge posts. The ones from Skinner or XS are both nice. The XS has no option but a white stripe and that is not for everyone.

i have them on my 336 and love them. off-hand i shoot as well with the skinner sights as i do with a 3-9x scope.

I received my Skinner sights about a week and a half ago and finally got around to installing them. Installation was uneventful...removed the inner two scope mount screws and installed the Skinner sight. Looked thru the new sight and saw that it was well above the original buckhorn sight that I had left on the barrel. Skinner recommends that you start with a 1/2" high front blade. I dug around in my spare gun parts box and found one that was .531" and had the same width dove tail. Knocked out the now to short front sight and replaced it with the .531". Took the rifle out to my range today and it was spot on left to right and only required a couple of turns to raise it and it is now dialed in for .38 Spcl 130 grain FMJ...I'm sure that will change as I progress up to 158 grain and then onto .357 magnum. I ordered the smallest aperture and the dovetail plug to hold it. I like the gun more and more every time I shoot it. I'm thinking of using this for deer hunting this year.
