I have a Yugo SKS, it wouldn't fire semi-auto(Failure to eject), at all when I got it(yes, I had it in semi-auto mode). I came to The High Road to figure out my problem, would i found was that it was most likely a bad seal between the gas tube(the thing with the hand guard on it) and the gas cylinder. So some on the thread recommended a stainless steel gas valve. So I was able to buy one on ebay. I installed it in the gun. It is a bit longer than the stock one, I had to really put some force on the gas tube when reinstalling it, the selector by the grenade sight will not budge out of semi-auto. It will for the first mag full(10 rnd) just fine and then after that it starts to jam(stovepipe).

What else can I do?
Will a Chinese gas tube work on a Yugo rifle?

It sounds like there may still be some cosmoline in there. I had a similar experience with mine and it took tearing it down three times and re-cleaning to finally get it to stop stovepiping and jamming. Now, it's rare that I get a malfunction.

Mine doesn't like the 154gr SP from Wolf. It is really reliable with everything else.

I cleaned it again and bought some good ammo. I fired 10 just fine then the jamming began. I let it sit 2 hours and then was able to fire 10 more, then jamming. Iy almost seems to be a heat issue.
