Ok, I read the ads, and ordered this stuff.
I ordered the value kit, for @26.95.
It was supposed to include:
1 SLIP2000 Gas Piston Parts and Choke Tube Cleaner 16 Oz. Empty Jar
1 SLIP2000 Gas Piston Parts and Choke Tube Cleaner 32 Oz. Refill Quart
1 SLIP 2000™ Gun Lubricant 1 Oz. Refillable Field Pack Size Bottle with Flip Top
1 Port Cleaning Brush
It did not have a port cleaning brush. No big deal
Their customer service was excellent. The product did not arrive after a week or so after I ordered, so I called. They shipped a replacement order. The lady I talked with was courteous and professional.
As far as the product is concerned, I am not terribly impressed. I have 2 Beretta 390's. After 500 - 600 rounds or so, the piston get pretty carboned up. Primarily on the inside, which really isn't a problem from a functional standpoint, but I like to keep them clean.
I intentionally waited to clean the Beretta's so I could test the Slip 2000. It smells nice. I dropped the first piston in the "soup", and let it sit for 15 minutes. I could not tell that it did anything. I let it soak for another 45 minutes, and the carbon was soft, and could be scraped loose with a screwdriver. It certainly is not the be all and end all that is claimed. I cleaned the second piston with similar results.
Frankly, I get similar results with Ed's Red, and it costs a lot less that the Slip 2000 Gas Piston Parts and Choke Tube Cleaner.
I tried Slip 2000 in an ultrasonic cleaner. It worked pretty well for the first 20 minutes or so, but then permanently separated.
I won't be buying this stuff again. I did like the Slip 2000 lubricant however.
Anybody else have any experience with this stuff?
