I had some CCI 550 primers left over from a previous purchase, used them to load up some 158gr SWC in .357mag with 14.4gr 2400.
Looked like it was just starting to flatten the primers.
Loaded up some of the same loads, but instead using CCI 500 primers. No signs of flattening primers at all.
So I can see why new loading manuals say to use regular small pistol instead of small pistol magnum primers. It really does make a difference in pressures generated.
